Care is the condition of every trial.

Unambiguous limits

Graduated disturbance is a principle of the manual; for that very reason it needs unambiguous limits. No council, no critical period and no local tradition can suspend this list.

What is forbidden in Kosmabeko

The following are forbidden in every activity, rite and ceremony:

• hazing, initiation pranks and any form of humiliation;
• secret rites or meetings, or any content hidden from families;
• induced fear: faking dangers, accidents, disappearances, threats or emergencies;
• depriving anyone of food, water, warmth or sleep, including as a «trial»;
• causing pain or leaving marks on the body;
• nudity or any situation with sexual connotations;
• forcing anyone to take part in devotional elements or to confess or share private matters;
• forcing anyone to show their logbook;
• isolating a minor as punishment;
• labeling a member with a pole or a landa;
• any conduct contrary to the code of conduct.

Safety in activities

Adults per minors

Local regulations always apply when they are stricter. At a minimum, Kosmabeko requires: two responsible adults in every activity; in the Branch of the Pole, one adult for every six minors; in the Branch of the Edge, one for every eight; in the Branch of the Landa, one for every ten. In overnight activities, at least two adults and, if the group is mixed, a mixed adult team. In every activity there is at least one adult with current first-aid training.

Documentation

For every activity away from the meeting place: a consent form signed by the family; a medical form for each participant (allergies, medication, relevant conditions, contacts); a checked first-aid kit; an emergency plan with the phone numbers and location of the nearest health center.
