Curriculum

The year is not a list of events: it is a systence of four landas.

A cycle that passes through both hemispheres

• The 48 hamiltonian landas all have an extreme sign, so the school cannot be a fixed hamiltonian. Its year is a cycle of landas that passes through a yang hamiltonian and a yin one, linked by two bridge landas.
• For the two seasons Kosmabeko chooses the pair Kosmagest itself uses, in its chapter on systence, as the paradigmatic case of rest and of the disturbance that reopens it: Latent Closure and Growing Powder Keg. And as bridges it chooses the two neutral landas of the catalog that link exactly their cores and their wrappers.

Opening season

Hamiltonian, extreme positive; all four dimensions in bias.

The group's aggregation is the field of the whole season: it is the time of being together, of going out in circles and in branches, of camping. Within that field, the channels open: outings, meetings with other groups, exploring new territory. Within that opening flows intense activity —projects, buildings, fires, big games—. And at the core beats potentiation: the possibility of the trial, of what has not happened yet.

Bridge festival of Fire

The culmination of the season —the great camp, the critical moment of the year— is the field; within it, the stimulation of the lit fire; within that, the inhibition of the kept fire; and at the core, singularization: each one with their own, with what the season left them. The energetic dimension is in equilibrium —burning and resting at once—, and the structural one is absent, held by the camp that contains it. It is the preferred time for the rites of the energetic grade.

Closing season

Kosmagest uses this landa as the paradigmatic case of rest, and warns that its name does not designate the absence of process but a process closed on itself, awaiting the disturbance that will reopen it. Singularization is the field: the time of the logbook, of the personal project, of each one's grade work. Within it, restriction: the meeting place, the workshop, focus on few things, limits. Within that, inhibition: the slow rhythm, silence, listening. And at the core, normalization: habits that settle, repetition that grounds what was learned in the opening. It is not a dead time for the group: it is what turns experience into capacity.

The rule is the field: it is the time of accounting, of the families' assembly, of reviewing the year's agreements. Within it, restriction —what closes: the year that ends, the circles that say goodbye— and, within restriction, liberation —the door that opens: the newcomers who arrive, the circles that re-form—. At the core, aggregation: the group that forms again and that will be the field of the next opening season. The structural dimension is in equilibrium —closing and opening at once—, and the energetic one is absent. It is the time of welcome, of moving up branches and of the rites of the structural grade.

How the cycle closes

• The four links follow the Kosmacrux chaining rule —the core of each landa is the wrapper of the next— and the cycle closes. It shares its sixteen poles equally between the two hemispheres —eight yang and eight yin—, puts all four dimensions in bias in each season, and at each bridge opens precisely the dimension whose edge of opposition it crosses: the energetic one at Fire and the structural one at the Door.
• Each stretch is a landa, and like every landa it is read nested: its four poles are simultaneous facets of the group's life during that stretch, not successive phases within it.
